Veteran actor Deven Verma is no more

Mumbai, Dec 2: Hindi film and television actor Deven Verma passed away on Tuesday morning at a Pune hospital. He was 77. He had been suffering from various ailments, including cardiovascular problems and diabetes. The actor was known for his comic roles in a number of films like Angoor, Khatta Meetha and Andaz Apna Apna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday condoled the death of Deven Verma, saying he was "admired by film lovers". “Modi expressed grief on the passing away of noted actor Deven Verma. PM described him as a popular actor, admired by film lovers,” the Prime Minister's Office said in a tweet. The comedian died in Pune following a heart attack and kidney failure. He is survived by his wife Rupa Ganguly, the younger daughter of legendary actor Ashok Kumar.
