Pragati College killing: Students protest, accused arrested
Hyderabad, Dec 1: The sad death of the BCom second year student Harshavardhan Rao in Pragathi Mahavidyalaya, Hanuman Tekedi, Ramkote in Hyderabad, has sent shock waves across the city. A senior had attacked the boy who died after he objected to the senior's harassment of a girl in his class on November 29. Reacting to the death, hundreds of students along with dead boy's relatives, attended the funeral of the boy on Sunday. Later, upset over the college management's attitude, the protesting students barged into the college and damaged the property. Meanwhile, the college management assured of doing justice to Harsha. Sultan Bazar Police are reported to have arrested the accused, Satish Kodkar, and have registered a case of murder against him. Sultan Bazar Police Station Inspector G Srinivas, however, ruled out that the incident was a fallout of ragging. The accused is being interrogated at a secret place.
