1 Manipuri murdered in Delhi, another attacked in Bengaluru
New Delhi, Nov 20: One PhD scholar from Manipur was found dead with his throat slit at his south Delhi home and in a separate incident another student from that state was injured in an attack in Bengaluru for trying to protect a woman from three drunk men late Wednesday night.
Delhi Police registered a case of murder after they found dead a 33-year-old PhD scholar from Manipur at his rented residence in Kotla Mubarakpur area of south Delhi late Wednesday night.
The scholar was identified as Zingran Kengoo and he was reportedly pursuing his doctorate from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Meanwhile, the injured 21-year-old Manipuri student is undergoing treatment in a Bengaluru hospital. Police said the student was hit on the head after he had asked the drunk men to stop making vulgar remarks about the woman.
Bengaluru Police are searching for the three attackers.
