Dattatreya assures he'll act as bridge between Centre and TS

Hyderabad, Nov 15: Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday said he will strive to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana in his new role at the Centre. Dattatreya said he will act as a bridge between the Centre and the Telangana government and said he will do his bit to get things done for the state. He made these assurances after he was accorded a civic reception by the TS government here on Saturday. Earlier, praising Dattatreya, TS Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said he is not 'Bandaru' but 'Bangaru' (golden) Dattatreya for the people of Telangana. The chief minister also said there was a void at the Centre as there was no representative in the Union Cabinet from Telangana. The CM said that now that void has been filled and Dattatreya will be the state's voice. The veteran BJP leader thanked former Governor of Sikkim V V Rama Rao, who was also present on the occasion, for encouraging him to embark into politics during his initial days. Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudanachari, Leader of Opposition in the assembly K Jana Reddy, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy, ministers, legislators and senior officials were also present at the programme.
