BSNL Unlimited Voice Calls@ Rs 149, Very Soon
New Delhi: Good news for all BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd) mobile phone customers. It is going to announce unlimited national and local voice calls to any network for just Rs.149 per month. It is expected that from January 1st the new tariff plan will be made available to customers. To compete with the Reliance's Jio, which announced unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS and 300 MB data at Rs 149 a month, BSNL working out this new plan. BSNL chairman Anupam Shrivastava told that "Reliance Jio has come up with very disruptive strategy and we are ready to compete whatever tariff is being served by our competitor. We have been working on a plan which allow unlimited voice calls at any network at Rs.149 a month." The present broadband network of BSNL can serve only 12 million customers. Keeping in view of the future expansion BSNL also planning to use its 7 lakh route kms underutilised fibre based broadband network across India. For 2015-16 FY BSNL announced a six fold operating profit at Rs. 3855cr.
