IAS Couple Spent Just Rs.500 On Wedding
Bhopal: Now a days wedding has become a gala affair. Even middle class families also tending to spend lakhs of rupees to celebrate the wedlock. Economists termed such condition as 'Demonstration Effect'.
But the IAS couple from Madhya Pradesh Ashis Vasisth and Saloni Sidana have spent just Rs.500 for their wedding. Both of them belong to 2004 batch. They spent that Rs.500 as marriage registration fee.
T. Ilaya Raja, Bhind district collector who was one of the witnesses in the wedding said "Mr Vashisth who is presently posted in Gohad as sub-divisional magistrate had applied for marriage registration with his batch-mate Ms.Salone Sidana, who is currently serving as SDM, Vijayawada, AP. November 28, had notified as their date of registration in the Bhind court."
Recently we have seen how the mining baron and Karnataka ex minister Gali Janardhan Reddy conducted his daughter's marriage. Informal sources estimate that Rs.500cr has been spent on the marriage.
