Two Medicos Commit Suicide

Hyderabad, Oct.20: Two medicos in separate incidents committed suicide. Osmania Medical College postgraduate student Sravani (27) committed suicide on Wednesday by injecting an over dose of anesthesia mixed in saline at her private room near the college in Koti here. A native of Miryalaguda in Telangana, Sravani was in PG final year, and the reason for the extreme step is suspected to be her love affair with an MBBS student in the same college. She locked the door from inside and put the anesthesia laced saline on herself. Sravani's mother whose repeated calls were not received by her daughter, alerted her room mate who with the help of others broke open the door and shifted her to hospital. However, she was dead by the time. Afzalganj police are investigating after booking a case of suspicious death. Balabhadra Ritesh (23) of Eluru in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh was about to complete his MBBS in a month. He was the son of Dr. Venkatraju of Kakinada. According to classmates, he was not mingling with others for some time and did not attend the college sports meet recently. He was last seen by hostel mates at around 5 pm on Wednesday. Friends and hostel staff started searching since late night, and found his body on the back side of the hostel building at 2.30 am on Thursday. The reason for the suicide is not known.
