New districts: Officials told to work from day one
Hyderabad, Sept.28: The Telangana State government was making officials ready to start governance from the day the new districts, revenue divisions and mandals come into being.
The officials were preparing proposals in this regard following directions of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that the revenue and police stations have to work from the first day itself after the creation of new districts. The Chief Minister’s Additional Principal Secretary Shanti Kumari held a review meeting with heads of various departments on Wednesday at the Secretariat in this regard. They discussed comprehensively on how many employees were needed and how many cadre posts were needed and how to fill them in mandals, divisions and districts.
They came to a preliminary estimate that 3252 posts were needed to be filled in this regard. There was a chance of increasing the number in every cadre. The officials have decided to fill the posts in the respective departments by giving promotions based on their qualifications. They also came to a conclusion that the more posts were needed in Revenue and Police departments and arrangements would be made as per need. The officials have decided to take immediate arrangements to run SP, Collector and Revenue division offices at district level, Tahsildar, MPDO, Police Stations and other offices at mandal level.
