BJP slams political and ideological bankruptcy of TRS
Hyderabad, Sept.14: Telangana BJP official spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao has strongly refuted the allegations of TRS MP Kavitha that the BJP was pursuing divisive politics over September 17 celebrations. He said the comment of Kavitha shows TRS party’s political and ideological bankruptcy.
BJP is a national party and demanding that the Telangana government celebrate officially September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day as on that date the Indian army marched into the princely State and forced erstwhile Nizam and merged into the Indian Union on September 17, 1948, a year after country’s Independence.
It is history and the TRS cannot evade the issue, Krishna Sagar said. He also recalled hat during separate Telangana movement, TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao had made the same demand. But after coming to power, the latter changed his stand and indulged in double speak as he was hobnobbing with the MIM.
The BJP leader took strong objection to the Chief Minister praising the erstwhile Nizam as a great ruler. Reiterating the demand to celebrate officially September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day, Krishna Saagar said, “We will not tolerate the insult to the self-respect of people of Telangana and all the martyrs, who laid down their lives during the fight against Nizam rule.
