Rewards pour in for Sindhu; AP announced a house plot & Rs 3 crore

Hyderabad, Aug.20: Andhra Pradesh State government today announced rewards, including cash of Rs three crore and a 1000 square yards land in Amaravathi to badminton player P V Sindhu, who won an Olympic silver medal at Rio on Friday night. This was announced after the State cabinet meeting at Vijayawada. Besides 1000 square yards land in the capital city of Amaravati, PV Sindhu would be officiated as Group-1 employee. The AP government also announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh to her coach Pullela Gopichand. The Delhi government has announced Rs two crore to Sindhu. Indian Badminton Federation announced Rs 50 lakh to Sindhu and Rs 10 lakh to coach Gopichand. The AP government also announced Rs 50 lakh cash prize for Sakshi Malik, who won bronze and being the first woman wrestler from India to bag an Olympic medal. The Telangana government has already announced Rs 1 crore reward for PV Sindhu. Delhi Government has announced Rs 2 crore prize. Badminton Association of India (BAI) announced Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu and Rs 10 lakh for Gopichand. Madhya Pradesh government has announced Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu.
