Apple announces cash awards for good hackers

Apple has offered a bounty to hackers who can flag bugs in its products. Apple has laid out cash rewards for the hackers who could report bugs in its various products at the Black Hat Hacking conference. The cash rewards are $25,000 for ways around Apple's digital compartments and into its costomers' data, $50,000 for bugs that give hackers a way into iCloud data and $200,000 to turn over critical vulnerabilities in Apple's firmware. The last is software that lies close to the metal of the machine. Also, Apple put forward another proposal. If the hackers decide to donate the cash reward for charity, Apple will give a matching donation to the charity. This is no Apple innovation. Silicon Valley companies have been rewarding hackers in the past 6 years, if the good hackers came up with faults in their products.
