AP can't get capital due to corruption; SCS is only way, says Ramachandraiah

Stating that Andhra Pradesh topped in corruption, Congress leader C. Ramachandraiah said on Saturday that that was the reason way nobody was coming forward to set up industry in AP. Just because Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was making foreign trips, the State would not get investment. The only way investments could be attracted was by a declaration of AP as Special Category State, which was promised in the AP Reorgnisation Act. The Chief Minister must use the opportunity of the ongoing Inter-State Council meeting to press the promise of SCS for AP. He noted in this connection that of the Rs 700 crore allotted by the Centre for the backward districts in AP, only Rs 7 crore was used so far. He demanded a white paper on the subject. Stating that even the gods have no protection in the State, where temples were being demolished in the name of development, where was the protection for the Backward districts, he commented.
