BJP launches stir against Akhilesh Govt in UP

All parties in Uttar Pradesh are gearing up for next year's State Assembly elections. With no immediate provocation, the principal opposition BJP on Friday raised slogans against the Ahilesh Yadav government, stating that the law and order situation had deteriorated in the State. The BJP charged that Akhilesh had not been able to control the law and order in the state. The BJP demonstration in Lucknow was dispersed by using water cannon. Significantly, the BJP move comes soon after the State government filing a case of cow slaughter against the family at Dadri, whose family head, Akhlaq, was lynched to death for allegedly eating cow beef in September 2015. Apparently the government move was not to the liking of the BJP at this juncture.
