Tobacco farmers woes highlighted at Jagan meet & pickpockets get thrashed

YCP leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy's meeting in Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district was a grand success on Wednesday, going by the arrival of the affected tobacco farmers in large nubers and also pickpockets who were caught pinching in the massive crowd. While the farmers displayed their affected tobacco leaves for the benefit of Jagan, the pickpockets wanted to take advantage of the massive crowd. First the tobacco farmers were angered that the crowds spilled over to the part of the venue where they displayed their tobacco leaves. The crowds manoeuvred their act in such a way as to pinch the leaves of the farmers for smoking or whatever purpose. The already restive farmers chafed at the crowd's idea and pushed them away. Owing to the commotion, the organisers had to assuage the tobacco farmers and direct the crowds to sympathise with the farmers. Pickpockets thought they had a field day with the massive people's response. When one or two pickpockets were caught, they were thrashed by the crowd and told not to try the trick again. In the event, Jagan received a grand welcome at Jangareddygudem.
