Great Sunil Gavaskar likes Parle G biscuits only

Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar is a true Maharashtrian who likes Parle G Glucose biscuits only. He would like to munch these biscuits with his cuppa. So tweeted his sister Nutan Gavaskar on Sunday when Sunil celebrated his 67th birthday. When he went to the West Indies in 1972-73, the family would make it a point to send Sunil Parle biscuits from Bombay. They would send it through anyone going to the West Indies. The family would ensure Sunil had enough biscuits to last 3 weeks to 1 month of the tour. Sunil would have the biscuits both with coffee and tea. However, the cricket great has given up on biscuits because of diabetes. Even so, he would like to go for Parle every now and then, but the family would advise him not to. Simple taste, but what batting and what grit he displayed on the cricket field, making mincemeat of the famous West Indian speed quartet, including Big Bird Joel Garner, without wearing a helmet.
