Haritha Haram to fight global warming: KTR

The effects of global warming are acute on Telangana. The proposed Haritha Haram programme of the TRS government is an answer to it, according to IT Minister K. Taraka Ramarao. Talking to the media on Friday, the minister said by this afforestation programme the percentage of forest cover could be raised. The State could be transformed as a Green State. Therefore, it is a people's programme. He noted that the programmes introduced by the government such as Mission Bhagiratha were yielding good results. Likewise, Haritha Haram was also expected to give good results. The present forest cover in the State is 25.09%.
