CPI tries to prevent destruction of old temples in Bezawada
Vijayawada, the leading city in the Andhra Pradesh capital region, on Thursday witnessed the strange spectacle of the godless communists vehemently protesting against the destruction of old temples there in the name of develoment by the AP government and the civic authorities. The CPI has taken the cudgels for the upkeep of the temples dating back to the ages. On Thurday, the CPI followers tried to storm the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation office. The police prevented them from doing so, and there was commotion. `Is this Development or Destruction?' was the slogan of the CPI followers to the civic authorities move to bring down old temples. The CPI followers also staged a sit-in in front of the Corporation office.
