Vijayasai Reddy to introduce a bill to fight defections

Finance expert and YCP general secretary, Vijayasai Reddy, took the oath in the Rajya Sabha as a member on Tuesday. He was administered the oath by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Hamid Ansari. Along with Vijayasai Reddy, the other members elected from the Telugu States, including Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Captain Laxmikanta Rao and Dharmapuri Srinivas took the oath. Talking on the occasion, Vijayasai Reddy said he would try to introduce a private member's bill against defections. He would also strive to put pressure on the Centre for the implementation of the provisions in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. The newly elected TDP members, Sujana Chowdary and T.G. Venkatesh were, however, absent from taking the oath today.
