ABVP bid to lay siege to Ministers quarters foiled

Demanding to resolve problems related to education, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad students on Monday tried to lay siege to the residences of Ministers in Hyderabad. However, the police foiled their attempt by taking them into preventive custody. Later, they were shifted to the Banjara Hills police station. Sensing trouble, the police had already put barricades on the main road leading to Ministers’ Quarters. But the ABVP members squatted on the road and raised slogans, demanding justice and condemned exorbitant fees being collected by private educational institutions, including corporate education institutions. The agitating ABVP members were physically lifted by security personnel and bundled into waiting police vans.
