CM attends meet on nutrition for kids, but MLAs, MLCs play truant

A conference on nutritious food the children in Andhra Pradesh was sparsely attended on Friday. This was despite the fact that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the meeting at the Gateway Hotel. Since it pertained to the nutrition of the citizens of tomorrow, invitations were sent to all MLAs and MLCs to attend it. While there are 225 members in both the houses, only 25 made it a point to attend the conference. It had the quorum all right. The meeting was jointly organised by UNICEF, AP Assembly, AP Council and the CII. Normally, the MLA and MLCs try to catch the eye of the Chief Minister by attending meetings he goes to. But since it was not a political meeting and pertained to children's nutrition, the chairs remained unoccupied at the meeting.
