Rename KBR Park as Mukarram Jah's, pleads minority chief

State Minority Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan on Friday requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to rename the KBR Park in Jubilee Hills as Prince Mukarram Jah park. He met the Chief Minister in this connection. He reminded the Chief Minister that in the past the State government had taken 300 acres from the Prince under the Urban Land Ceiling Act. After acquiring the land, the government had announced that there was no land ceiling and converted the acquired land into KBR Park. Prince Mukarram Jah is the titular head of Hyderabad and lives abroad. The park has an approximate acreage of 390 and gives a lot of lung space to the people in the surrounding areas. It houses the famous 24-acre Chiran Palace. Peacocks strut about in the park.
