Mudragada, followers arrested separately

Kapu Unity Front leader Mudragada Padmanabham was arrested on Thursday amidst high drama and taken to Rajahmundry CB-CID office. In the process, his fast-unto-death was sought to be thwarted. Mudragada's follwers were also arrested and they were being taken in vehicles. First, Mudragada was taken to a hospital before going to Rajahmundry. The Kapu leader's arrest was resisted by Mudragada himself and also his followers. The followers demanded the grounds of arrest of the Kapu leader. Top police of the area showed them the papers. The followers were not convinced. Their lawyers were summoned. Before further demands were made, the Kapu leader's followers were first taken into custody and taken away in vehicles. Then Mudragada was also taken into custody. The situation in Kirlampudi and elsewhere was being monitored by Eluru Range DIG Ramakrishna and SP Raviprakash.
