Jayalalithaa sacks defeated ministers from party posts

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has devised a Kamaraj plan of her own to dump ministers and MLAs who had lost the recent assembly elections of party posts. She did not spare her most trusted lieutenant, Pannerselvan, either. She dumped her son, Ravindranathan, as AIADMK general secretary of Teni district. Former electricity minister R. Vishwanathan was sacked as general secretary of the party in Dindigal district. All the party organising secretaries, Ponnaiyyan, Palaniappan, Parnuti Ramachandran and Mohan have been deprived of their posts. In her previous government, she had removed the ministers of Telugu origin. Now that she is coming out of the millstone of the disproportionate assets case, Jaya appears to be holding the whip against those non-performing in regard to influencing the voters.
