Ex-Warangal MP Kalpana Devi passes away

Hyderabad, May 29: Former Warangal MP Dr T Kalpana Devi passed away late on Saturday night. Kalpana Devi, who has not been keeping well, was being treated at Global Hospital here. The end came shortly after midnight. Kalpana Devi, a medical doctor, joined the TDP in 1983 and won as an MP from Warangal Parlimentary Constituency in 1984. Later, she joined the Congress and unsuccessfully contested for the Lok Sabha seat. After the defeat, she has kept away from active politics. She has been running Jaya Hospital at Hanamkonda in Warangal district. She has two sons, both medical professionals. The last rites will be performed in her home city Warangal, according to family sources. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari condoled the death of Kalpana Devi.
