Encyclopedia man jumps to death from 19th floor
The Chief Operating Officer of Encyclopedia Britannica in India, Vineet Whig, reportedly jumped from 19th floor of his DLF Belvedere residence in Gurgaon to death in the morning.
Middle-aged Vineet left a suicide note in his trouser pocket, saying he was fed up with himsef.
Vineet left home early morning for a walk. Although he did not return in time, the family assumed that since he was a slow walker, he might be still at it. But his body was found in the ventilation shaft on the ground floor, where the maintenance found it. His slippers were found on the 19th floor.
They reported the matter to the building society who in turn told the police about the plunge by Vineet.
Vineet wrote in a recent blog, like Caesar, `I came, I saw,' innovating `I wept a while, I slept a while.'
According to the police he tried the jump on Saturday also, because he was seen on the 19th floor yesterday.
Vineet is survived by his father, wife, two sons and a daughter. His eldest is 19-year-old college-going boy.
