'Fake encounter to grab natural resources'

Hyderabad, May 13: The alleged encounter took place in the thick forest area between Marripakala and Palasamudram villages under Koyyur mandal in the Visakha agency was fake and was a cold blooded multiple murder of tribals to grab natural resources, said Prof. Laxman Gaddam, president, Civil Liberties Committee (CLC), Telangana on Friday. Talking to mediapersons here, Telangana CLC president Prof. Laxman Gaddam, general secretary N Narayana Rao, vice-president V Raghunath, assistant secretary M Kumaraswamy and others said their fact-finding committee, which visited the encounter spot and surrounding villages revealed that on May 4 at 4pm a 50-member special police party comprising Grey Hounds and civil police opened unprovoked firing at Puligondi Vagu killing Maoists Kamala, Azad and Anand in cold blood and fabricated an encounter theory as usual. The ‘fact finding committee’ pointed out that no policeman or any Greyhound suffered an injury or death. More over, the trigger-happy police registered cases against slain and escaped Maoists under Sections 147, 148, 307, 120-B, read with 149 IPC and other penal sections. Alleging that the police party shifted the bodies to mortuary only after they decomposed without conducting any panchanama and failed to follow HRC norms, they demanded that the State government order a judicial probe by a sitting judge of the High Court. The CLC leaders also demanded that the government register murder cases against all the police personnel involved in the fake encounter and immediately stop the massacre of Adivasis in the name of Green Hunt Operation.
