World's largest cargo plane lands in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 13: The world's largest cargo aircraft “Antonov An-225 Mriya” landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad here on Friday early morning. “Antonov An-225 Mriya” aircraft is the biggest when compared to other cargo aircrafts in the world and it entered the Guinness Book of Records. It also bagged many other awards. The aircraft of Ukraine is powered by six turbofan engines and carries weight of 640 tons. It also has the largest wingspan in operational service. The RGIA authorities said the biggest cargo aircraft made a transit halt at Shamshabad airport which was proceeding to Australia from Turkmenistan. It was carrying 1160-ton generator.
