Uttarakhand rebel Congress MLAs plea quashed
The Uttarakhand High Court on Monday struck down a petition by nine Congress MLAs who have turned rebels and whom the Speaker had declared as ineligible for voting during the floor test on Tuesday.
The High Court was going by the decision of the Apex Court which had already declared them ineligible for voting during the floor test.
The nine MLAs had challenged the decision of the Speaker in the High Court at Nainital. The court held that the Speaker decision was proper.
The nine MLAs run the risk of not just not voting in the Confidence Motion of Harish Rawat, they also may not be allowed into the assembly.
