YCP to launch Special Status agitation from May 10

Former Congress Minister and present YCP leader Bothsa Satyanarayana on Thursday said the Jaganmohan Reddy Party would launch an agitation before all the district Collectorates in the State on May 10, and their leader would be leading the stir in the thickly populated East Godavari district in support of their demand for the promised Special Category Status for AP. Bothsa asked Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu a straight question, `Is the State's welfare important or your personal aggrandisement?' He said the Chief Minister was talking about the issue without any logic. He said the same thing against BJP leaders who were changing their statements by the day on the issue of the SCS. Bothsa said the May 10 agitation should be such that the Centre would come down and meet the SCS demand. `Let us close down everything on that day,' he said in support of the demand. The YCP leader said `let us demonstrate the State's welfare is more important than one's aggrandisement.' He wanted the State MPs to press the matter in Parliament. `Let us enjoy our promised right,' he added. The YCP leader flayed the statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu in this regard.
