Jagan to go on 4-day fast to demand Special Status for AP

YS Jaganmohan Reddy, YCP leader, is going on a 4-day fast from May 16 to demand Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. The Jagan fasting programme would be in Kurnool, which is the gateway to Rayalaseema. Jagan announced his fasting plan (deeksha) to newsmen at Lotus Pond, YCP headquarters, on Saturday. In this connection, the YCP leader lashed out at the Centre for simply watching Andhra Pradesh struggling to make the ends meet owing to lack of funds and resources. On top of it, the Centre had announced that the new State did not need the SCS. Instead of mounting pressure on the BJP-led Centre over the demand, the Chandrababu Naidu government was strangely silent on the issue.
