First biryani itself is not wholesome for health, considering the kind of mutton, oils and fats and spices used in some restaurants. Then the softdrink is as bad as alcohol in such a combination. Moreover, biryani is expected to give as much as 500 calories, which the body needs to digest with much difficulty. Sudden stomoch pain, pain in the chest, weakness are the common causes for the professionals knocking at the hospital doors, a study has found. These health problemes are increasing at the rate of 30 to 35% a year, the study added. The oils and fats and masalas used in biryani-making are to blame, they said. In some restaurants, mutton and chicken lacking in health quality are being used, the study found. All these are increasing the health problems for the professionals.
