Rural progress is India's progress: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who strongly believes that India lives in villages, on Thursday came out with a new slogan, `Gram uday se Bharat uday' (Village progress is India's progress). Touring Mau, Dr B.R. Ambedkar's native town, coinciding with his 125th birth anniversary celebrations, Modi described the founding father of the Indian Constitution as Vaishvanara (universal man - God). He garlanded a portrait of Dr Ambedkar on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Modi recalled that Dr Ambedkar had dreamed of village development. Hence it was necessary to realise his dreams by every Indian. He felt privileged to start the campaign from Dr Ambedkar's native town. Dr Ambedkar had fought against injustices in society and for equality and respect in society for the Dalits, he recalled.
