Amaravati area farmers allege seizure of lands without their knowledge

After a relative quiet, the farmers of Undavalli and Penumaka in Guntur district made a protest demonstration at Capital Regional Development Authority in Vijayawada on Monday, stating that their lands were being seized without their knowledge. The agitated farmers got into a verbal duel with the CRDA officials and wondered how could their lands be surveyed when they had not given their lands for land pooling. They argued their concerns with CRDA Commissioner Srikant also. The farmers pointed out that since they had not given their lands for land pooling, even the courts had given the judgement in their favour. Against this background, they said their lands were sought to be seized through other methods for the building of the new capital of Amaravati.
