Arrest warrant issued against Union Minister Sujana Chaudhary
The Nampalli court on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Union Minister Sujana Chaudhary in a private case filed by Mauritius Bank.
The Mauritius Bank has alleged that the Union Minister had borrowed Rs 106 crore from it, but had not repaid the amount.
Following the plea, the Nampalli court served the arrest warrant.
The court pointed out that the Union Minister had been directed to appear before it in person. But he had not done so. Against the background, the court had to issue an arrest warrant.
The next hearing in the case is fixed for April 26.
Since it is a private complaint, the minister might get away with the arrest warrant. But the issue would surely figure in the Union Cabinet.
