Jayendra Saraswati summoned in attack on auditor

Jayendra Saraswati, Kanchi Peethadhipathi, has been summoned by the Chennai court to appear before it in connection with the attack on auditor Radhakrishnan on April 28. Jayendra Saraswati and eight others are accused in the attack on the auditor. The other accused in the case have also been issued summonses by the Frist Additional Sessions court in Chennai. Radhakrishnan was a former associate of the Sankara Mutt in Kancheepuram. He was assaulted on September 20, 2002.The mutt frequently received anonymous letters that threatened to expose corruption in the Mutt by the pontiff. Similarly, the manager of Varadarajah Perumal temple in Kancheepuram was murdered at the temple premises on September 3, 2004. The manager, Sankararaman, used to level charges of corruption against the seer. The murder case was solved when all the 24 accused were acquitted on November 27, 2013.
