Supreme Court reverts Roja case to AP High Court
The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the AP High Court to appoint a judge to look into the appeal of YCP leader, RK roja, by Wednesday.
This was communicated to the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High court. The court was going to send an email to the Chief Justice by the evening in this regard.
RK Roja has appealed to the special Bench of the Supreme court that she be allowed to attend the Budget session of the AP State Assembly. She was suspended for 1 year for her alleged intemperate remarks against Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Under Rule 342/2, a member could be suspended for only one session. But she was suspended for 1 year.
There was a lapse in handing over the suspension notice to her, Roja's lawyer alleged. The Supreme Court was angry with the State government in this regard.
Roja counsel alleged that when she moved the High Court, the Assistant Registrar of the High Court had rejected her plea. The court was also angry in this regard.
