Af-Pak region holds FBI agent Bob Levinson for 9 years

An FBI agent, Robert Levinson, who was also working as CIA contractor at that time, has been missing for 9 years now. He was said to be in any of the three countries -- Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. But these countries have been cagey about revealing the details. The US government has meanwhile announced a reward of $5 million for safe return of Robert Levinson. Following the recent atomic agreeement with Iran, US Secretary of State John Kerry had broached the subject of Levinson with Iran. But he was told that Teheran had no idea. A video showing Levinson as a hostage had been delivered to his home in 2010. Subsequently, another video showing the FBI agent in an orange jump suit had emanated from Afghanistan. The hostage video shows Bob Levinson as holding a small placard asking, `I am here in Guantanamo Bay. Do you know where it is?' Obviously, he is with with Al Quaida, Taliban or some other terror oufit but in the Af-Pak region. He also must be facing the same treatment as Muslim prisoners in Guantanamo Bay run by the US on its border with Cuba, wherever he is. So there was hope in the US that Levinson was alive. He turned 68 last Thursday. John Kerry vowed, `We will never forget Bob (Levinson).' Levinson's wife, Christine, urged Washington to keep pushing for Levinson's freedom.
