Star Balakrishna wants Lepakshi declared World Heritage Site

Tollywood Star Balakrishna wants the UN recognition for Lepakshi sculpture as World Heritage Site. Opening the Lepakshi festival at the ancient sculpture site on Saturday, Balakrishna praised the beauty of the ancient sculpture. The Nandi (bull) is the symbol of the State. Along with the heritage of the ancient sculptures, he gave a call to the people to save the culture and the traditions of the Telugus. The officially sponsored programme is being organised on an unprecedented scale. It is significant that the cultural artefacts in the Telugu States are sold under the name of Lepakshi. Lepakshi is named after Lord Rama consoling the dying big bird Jatayu. Balakrishna is an MLA from Hindupur and Lepakshi site falls in his constituency of Hindupur.
