OU students agitate for their secure future: Some taken into custody

Amidst senseless agitation by Central universities over abstract narrartives, Osmania University students are showing a sense of purpose for their education. The OU students on Saturday staged a dharna at the NCC gate on the campus protesting against current consultations in the Telangana government to give weightage to contractual posts rather than recruitment on a regular basis for Group 2 posts. The consultations on the contractual policy is being protested by the students who wanted the regular mode of recruitment to continue. Contract basis will benefit the government because it can hire and fire without any commitment except for the contract. As the students were trying to come out out of the campus to take out a rally, the OU students were stopped at the NCC gate. The presence of the police in high numbers did not have any effect on the students who wanted to take out the rally anyway. There was pushing by the police and the students. Following the tension raised by the students, several of their leaders have been taken into custody. The OU students give top priority to Group 2 posts, and any changes in the process will naturally affect their future. Unlike using education for building one's future, the Central universities in the country are pursuing a weird narrative that of eulogising prisoners condemned for treason. How it will benefit themselves or the nation they have not come out with. Supporters of the weird narrative are the Congress, the Grand Old Party that can claim to bringing in Independence, and the CPI and the CPIM.
