Anti-graft drive by Modi Govt almost doubles
The fight against corruption increased by 94% under the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government in 2015, according to CBI Director Anil Sinha. Sinha on Wednesday named just three senior politicians, Navin Jindal (coalgate), A.Raja (DMK former Union Telecom Minister) and Virbhadra Singh (longest serving Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh), as facing corruption charges. Significantly, all the three leaders have been connected to the Congress regime. As the names were already known, the CBI is expected to come out with more details of those facing corruption charges. While saying there were as many as 2200 senior officials on the CBI list, Sinha did not name any, and only 101 FIRs have ben filed in this category. At this rate, how could trillions of dollars supposedly stashed away in Swiss banks, allegedly by prominent Indians, be brought back? The CBI must do its work faster, better.
