Show no mercy to the enemy, Parrikar tells Army

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has told Armymen that every death of a soldier gave him much pain. Therefore, they should give the enemy as much pain as the distress suffered by patriots whenever they are called upon to do so. Speaking on the occasion of 66th Army Day, Parrikar noted the Armymen's sacrifices were overwhelming and he had the highest respect for their sacrifices. At the same time, the Armymen should cause as much pain, which would be a lesson to the enemy. Whenever they are called upon to do so, the Armymen should show no mercy to the enemy. Lt.Col Niranjan of the NSG apparently tried to show a humanitarian gesture to a terrorist at Pathankot airbase when he went to handle a dead terrorst and a bomb on the body went off killing the Lt.Col. The bodies of terrorists are supposed to be dragged and not handled after ensuring they are not packed with explosives.
