Police step up nabbing Call Money racketeers: 57 held

The Vijayawada police have stepped up nabbing Call Money racketeers and arrested 57 members of 10 gangs. There were as many as 40 Call Money gangs in Vijayawada. The racketeers belonging to various parties have divided the city into 40 segments and sharing the spoils. Stating that cases were filed against the racketeers in three police stations in Vijayawada, the Police Commissioner said three teams have been deployed to effect arrests of the gang members. All the gangs have bouncers who would use criminal methods for loan recovery.
