IMD predicts more heavy rains in TN, Puducherry
Hyderabad, Dec 2: India Meteorological Department today forecast that Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will experience heavy rains for the next 24 to 36 hours and mild rain fall for at least seven days from now due to north east monsoon, according to NDTV news channel from New Delhi.
Meanwhile, all operations at Chennai airport have been stopped for the rest of the day. At least 22 trains to and from Chennai have been cancelled.
In the wake of the flood alert issued in parts of Tamil Nadu, the Chennai Corporation today announced emergency contact numbers for all the regional zones in the city.
With the MET predicting more rain in the next four days, the state government issued a flood alert today, NDTV news channel reported.
