Provide legal protection to Amaravati, say AP Secretariat Officers Association Chief
Hyderabad, Nov 10: Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Officers Association president and Deputy Secretary in the AP Law Ministry Bachina Ramanjaneya today wrote a letter to the central government as well as the stat government urging them to provide legal protection to the state's new capital city Amaravati. He informed both the governments that the name Amaravati should be included in the AP State Reorganisation Act of 2014 to seek legal sanction to the capital city. He also wrote a letter to AP chief Seretary IYR Krihna Rao urging him to send a proposal to the central government to discuss in the next cabinet meeting and pass a resolution on the issue to provide legal sanction to the name. He wrote this letter after he came across media reports that some political party were against the setting up of the capital city at Amaravati. To avoid shifting of the capital city every time a new government comes into power and to ensure protection and continuity to both the officials and people shifting to Amaravati, providing legal sanction to the name of the capital city is necessary, he said.
