Shifting cancer institute from Tirupati to Guntur betrayal of Seema: Chinta Mohan

Hyderabad, Nov 9: Congress leader and former member of parliament Chinta Mohan today took serious exception to the decision to transfer the state-level Cancer Institute from Tirupati to Guntur. Dubbed it as ‘betrayal’ of Tirupati and Rayalaseema, Mohan said the then union minister Jairam Ramesh had laid the foundation stone for the institute in the Ruia Hospital complex on February 26, 2014. Mohan added that the present Union Health Minister had made a statement in the Rajya Sabha on the hospital being sanctioned to Tirupati. He, therefore, slammed the State Health Minister for stating that the institute would be shifted to Guntur.
