Setback to TDP MP in Supreme Court

Delhi, Oct 16: The Supreme Court today stayed admissions to MBBS course in Malla Reddy Medical College in the city. It may be noted that the college belongs to TDP MP CH Malla Reddy. He represents Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. The college has an intake capacity of 150 students in MBBS course. Medical Council of India (MCI) denied permission to admit students in the college for the academic year 2015 citing irregularities. Malla Reddy moved to Delhi High Court and obtained permission to fill the seats. MCI challenged the verdict and moved to Supreme Court. The petition came up for hearing in Supreme Court today. The court stayed admissions in the college and the verdict of Delhi High Court and deferred hearing for two weeks.
