AP capital in PPP mode: Parakala

Vijayawada, Oct 13: A Master Developer would be roped in for the development of AP capital city and Centre would provide financial assistance for the construction of buildings like Assembly, Council, Secretariat and High Court, said Communications Advisor to AP government Parakala Prabhakar. Speaking to the media here yesterday, Parakala said the Centre should provide assistance to the state government for the construction of buildings like Legislature houses as per the provisions of AP State Reorganisation Act. The government has so far pooled 33,000 acres of land from farmers offering them benefits like share in developed land. Parakala said that Master Developer will be selected through Swiss Challenge method and the company will bring investment in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. He clarified that Master Developer is not a builder and he will bring investment in PPP mode. AP government or its agencies over will have a stake so that they will also share profits. Besides constructing government buildings, government will take measures to ensure educational, health, recreation, sports and entertainment centres in the capital region to boost economy.
