Amaravati muhurtam is bad, say astrologers

Vijayawada, Oct 3: Pointing towards at least 20 negative points in the 12.45 pm muhurtam for the foundation laying ceremony for the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh, astrologers and vastu pandits said it is a bad muhurtam. Secretary of the Vasthu Vignana Parishad Pallavajhula Sriramakrishna Sarma, who hails from Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, said the Makara lagna at 12.45 pm is inauspicious. The capital city as well as the state could face instability if the government sticks to the 12.45 pm muhurtam, claimed Sharma. Sarma said if the TDP government insists on a Vijayadasami muhurtam, it can choose the 11.39 am Dhanur Lagnam of the same day, which is auspicious. Vijayawada-based astrologer Pulipaka Chandrasekhara Rao said the government should have finalised the muhurtham in consultation with experts in astrology and vastu pandits. Rao felt the opinion of an individual astrologer may not be correct. The office-bearers of the state Drukh Siddantha Almanac Writers Association and other astrologers slammed the government for the 12.45 pm muhurtam.
