Godavari water to Krishna delta by Aug 15: Devineni

Bhimadolu (West Godavari), Aug 09: Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has reiterated that Godavari river water would be supplied to Krishna delta through the first phase of Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme by August 15. He was speaking to reporters at Bhimadolu in West Godavari district after inspecting the project works near here. The Minister said that government would supply drinking water to areas under the purview Prakasam barrage through pipe lines from Pattiseema project. He assured that water would be diverted only after meeting the needs of two Godavari districts. He informed that CM Chandrababu Naidu had decided to link all the rivers in the state. Devineni said that Polavaram project would be completed in four years. He promised to address the problems of the project evacuees.
