Heritage City status to Rajahmundry soon: Murali Mohan

Rajahmundry, Aug 03: Cine actor and TDP MP Maganti Murali Mohan said that the Union government would soon accord Heritage City status to Rajahmundry apart from Tirupati and Amaravati. Speaking to the media here, the MP said that proposals were submitted to various departments of Union government for the implementation of 25 schemes for development of the city. The MP said that Petroleum University and Science City were shifted to other areas due to nonavailability of land in the city. He informed that proposals submitted for setting up Horticulture University, Police University and operating 90 buses in the city under JNNURM scheme. He said that airport in the city would be named after great social reformer Kandukuri Veeresalingam Panthulu or former Chief Minister Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu.
